History

Ozora castle, hungary

The village was made famous by its former owner and castle builder, Pipo de Ozora (1369-1426). The building was reduced to ruins in the Turkish times and following the military campaigns of the liberation its new owner, the Esterházy Family, had it rebuilt around 1730. The archaeological excavation of the castle started in 1981 and its restoration and renovation have been underway ever since.
