Short biography[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Carl-Matthias Maria Joseph Esterházy de Galántha

Carl-Matthias (named Mathis) Esterházy de Galántha was born on the 25th February 1958 in Vienna.

Mathis Esterhazy is an autodidact. He works in the fields of furniture and interior design. With the goal of coining money, Mathis Esterhazy learned welding, in order to be able to work on offshore construction works. At that time however he thought of welding oil tubes and not of using this technology to build boxes, tables and beds, which find a ready market.

The construction of furniture began with job orders of friends, who looked for alternatives to conventional furniture. Later he began to manufacture single furniture by welding iron square tubes. Beside various chairs he also developed aesthetic, sculptural pieces of furniture in combination with glass and frosted glass, which corresponded all together to Esterhazy's demand after fulfilment of functionality in the daily life.

He is married and has three children.
